How many times have you found yourself coping what your parents have repeatedly said or done all your life? More often than not I catch myself doing things the way my mother does them; repeating her ideals and even collecting certain home décor items that I chance on because she
has them. Part of it is because they remind me of her but to the rest is just her worldly wisdom that I am striving to copy for myself. Our folks have the power to hand-down many attributes to us, both negative and positive but I seemed to have chosen to inherit another aspect of my mom's habits; her
quiet knowledge of small things.
Not that I go out of my way to find the same items to decorate my home that she has, quite the contrary. If I do happen upon some item, it is by pure chance and usually it's to be found in a thrift shop like to ones she so often haunts. That too comes from her - my tendency toward
frequenting thrift stores, Sally Ann's and spring to autumn garage sales. Upon reflecting what other of her talents and gifts I may have inherited, I have noticed quite a few. I am more my mother's daughter later in life than I had suspected. My talent and love for writing, however, comes directly from my father who is a skilled
